The client's EMEA research team is tasked with supporting the industry and company research requirements for their consultees on projects in the region. The research team struggled to meet the consultants’ specialised research demands on niche and emerging industries such as FinTech and green technologies. This resulted in poor execution of research requests with the lack of granular level industry research meaning that they were unable to produce accurate insights on each sector.

 

The client's researchers were paying for ad hoc insights which were, in turn, proving expensive and difficult to budget for. Although a small group in the team had EMIS to support research requests, there were often delays in responding to consultants as not all researchers had direct access to EMIS.

SOLUTION

EMIS provided great value to the client as now the research team would substantially improve the speed and quality of response to research requests. In addition, it would result in cost savings by removing the requirement to purchase expensive ad hoc reports.

 

The client decided to acquire a divisional license to EMIS, allowing all researchers direct, unlimited access to the platform so that the users would be able to carry out research on niche, emerging industries as well information on other key industries.

  • EMIS was seen by the client as a must-have platform for industry research, with their users now able to source valuable market share and market sizing information as well as sector level forecast data to inform their research.
  • Our solution provides an expansive collection of industry research sources, covering many of the niche and emerging industries of interest to the client. The platform was seen as efficient in fulfilling research requests, as well as the cost savings of no longer having to rely on the purchasing of ad hoc research reports.

THE OUTCOME

Using EMIS, the client's research team can now provide their consultees with a deeper level of research:

  • The use of the EMIS platform improved the response time on research requests with on-demand access to industry information.
  • Significant cost savings were incurred by using a research aggregator as opposed to ad hoc report purchases. The client had downloaded 6,000 reports on EMIS, while ad-hoc report purchases had cost the company between USD 5,000 and USD 7,000 per report. If the same number of report downloads from the EMIS platform has been replaced by individual purchases, this may have cost the client upwards of USD 30 million.
